Hon. Pete Hegseth
Secretary of Defense
The Honorable Pete Hegseth is the 29th Secretary of Defense, sworn in on Jan. 25, 2025.
Hegseth was commissioned as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army National Guard after graduating from Princeton University in 2003. He participated in a number of active-duty deployments during his time in service, including operations in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq and Afghanistan. Hegseth also served in multiple staff positions in the National Guard.

Mr. Gary A. Ashworth is the Acting Secretary of the Air Force. In this role, he is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping the U.S. Air Force and Space Force. As the department’s senior leader, he oversees an annual budget exceeding $200 billion, provides air and space forces to combatant commanders in support of global military operations, and is accountable for the welfare of nearly 700,000 active duty, Guard, Reserve, and civilian Airmen and Guardians and their families.

As Chief, he serves as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training and equipping of 689,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the general and other service chiefs function as military advisers to the Secretary of Defense, National Security Council and the President.

Maj. Gen. Daniel A. DeVoe is the Commander of the Air Force District of Washington and the 320th Air Expeditionary Wing, headquartered at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. AFDW is the Air Force component to the Joint Forces Headquarters National Capital Region and is responsible for organizing, training and equipping combat forces for aerospace expeditionary forces, homeland operations, civil support, national special security events and ceremonial events. AFDW also provides major-command-level support for 33,000 military and civilian personnel assigned worldwide.

Captain Page Felini graduated from the University of Virginia on a Naval ROTC scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. She attended aviation preflight indoctrination and flight school in Pensacola, FL and Meridian, MS. After carrier qualification, she was designated a Naval Aviator and reported to VFA-122 at NAS Lemoore, CA, for initial training in the F/A-18F Super Hornet.

459th Air Refueling Wing Leadership

Colonel J. Corey Reed is Commander of the 459th Air Refueling Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. He supports and directs more than 1,300 military and civilian personnel in 20 units employing eight KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft. The 459th supports Air Mobility Command's worldwide air refueling mission and U.S. Strategic Command's nuclear deterrence mission.
