Business opportunities abound at Joint Base Andrews:

Alliance members have performed tasks ranging from poster printing to building a runway.

There has been a growing emphasis on small business contracting opportunities and an increase in contracting goals on Andrews that significantly exceed Air Force small business goals. Local businesses, even with overall contracting dollars shrinking, saw $4 million more dollars in FY2011 than in the previous year. Alliance members are encouraged to attend the biannual Team Andrews Business Summits—available to all members of the Andrews Alliance—held to afford entrepreneurs an excellent insight into the personnel and procedures employed by the Contracting Squadron and their partners on JBA, including the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW).

Membership in the Alliance provides the relationship building that is so crucial to business success through its following goals:

Assist members in advocacy with our base partners
Encourage contractors to locate to the Andrews Corridor
Promote local small business participation in federal defense contracting
Improve local services through modernization of commercial/residential facilities in order to provide quality tenancies by working with property owners and others
Establish and enhance relations between JBA and local businesses through education/connectivity
Physically redevelop surrounding communities
Advocate for Metrorail expansion to JBA & Westphalia
Foster civic leader and community support for the base
Continue to support the Charter School at Joint Base Andrews, working for future expansion of grades and facilities
